Galaxy Note Repairs
Samsung Electronics Australia first released the Samsung Galaxy Note in 2011. Following the extreme success of their Galaxy S smartphone, a touchscreen enabled smartphone with Android mobile operating system, Samsung released the Galaxy Note which encompassed a larger screen and use of a pen stylus (Galaxy Note S Pen).
Galaxy Note also features smartphone functions including text messaging, email, web browsing, portable media player, Wi-Fi connectivity and the use of third party web applications or “apps”. It sports the largest screen of all smartphones, a 5.3 inch capacitive HD Super AMOLED display, an active-matrix organic light-emitting diode with an integrated digitiser. The Super AMOLED appears to give the screen deeper colour and contrast giving the on-screen image a rich clarity.
The original Galaxy Note smartphone, or ‘phablet’ as it is dubbed due to its size and functionality, is powered by a 1.4GHz Dual Core Processor and ready with Android Gingerbread. The Android operating system has been very popular with developers due to its open nature and currently there are some 1.5 million apps available in the Google Play Store. Samsung has also introduced some Note specific apps which incorporate the use of the S Pen such as Soonr Workplace, Omnisketch and Zen Brush to name just a few.
Samsung launched the Samsung Galaxy Note II in Australia in 2012. The successor to the Galaxy Note came with an even bigger display- 5.5 inch HD Super AMOLED Plus and powered by an improved processor, Quad Core, a revised pen stylus and improved touchscreen digitiser and utilising Android Jelly Bean. Note II features pen gestures, Air View and multitasking via Popup Note, Popup Web and Popup Video.
In 2013 Samsung served up the Galaxy Note 3, again upsized. Bigger display screen, bigger battery (3200mAh), bigger camera (13MP). A 5.7 inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, 2.3GHz Quad Core Processor and equipped with Android Jelly Bean OS. This time Samsung went premium and swapped the plastic backing for a plastic leather backing. The Galaxy Note 3 features include Air Command, Action Memo, S Note, Direct Pen Input, Pen Window and Multi Window.
2014 came and so did the Galaxy Note 4. This time Samsung upped the anti in resolution; 5.7 inch Quad HD AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 4 on the Note 4, Quad Core Processor and running on Android Kitkat OS. There are eleven sensors which work to enhance the user’s experience: Accelerometer, Barometer, Fingerprint Sensor, Gyro Sensor, Geomagnetic Sensor, Gesture Sensor, Hall Sensor, HR Sensor, Proximity Sensor, RGB Sensor, UV Sensor. The Note 4 features a sleek metal finish and rear faux leather texture, rear camera is an impressive 16MP autofocus camera featuring Smart Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), front 3.7MP camera can capture wide-angle pictures, new multitasking interface, expanded S-Pen functions as well as gestures.
2014 also saw Samsung introduce the Galaxy Note Edge with its curved edge screen. Most features identical to the Note 4, apart from the difference in screen display technology and battery. The Note Edge has a 5.6 inch Super AMOLED display and standard battery of 3000mAh rather than the 3200mAh in the Note 4.
Like many other handheld gadgets, Samsung Galaxy Note is prone to accidents such as drops and liquid damage.
