Nintendo Wii Repairs

wiiThe Nintendo Wii console was released in Australia in 2007 and since has become the greatest selling and fastest selling gaming console in Australia. The Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) was the last successful gaming console for Nintendo. After SNES Nintendo did release Nintendo64 and GameCube however these were major flops and saw Nintendo losing its market share in the video gaming industry. Wii saved Nintendo from extinction and totally revolutionised our way of gaming by introducing a new concept of playing and player interaction.

Though its previous consoles lost to Xbox, Playstation and Playstation 2, Nintendo’s Wii re-enters the market against Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 (PS3) in a totally different light. Though its graphics capabilities do not compare to its rivals, the Wii is a more affordable gaming solution, attracts people of all different ages regardless of their gaming experience and really appeals to parents as it gets children up and moving.

The Wii console comes with a wireless Wii remote (and Nunchucks) and a Sensor Bar which is used to determine the remote’s position in 3-D space via accelerometers and infrared detection. Development of this technology has also led to accessories such as the Wii Fit Balance Board. Bluetooth technology is utilised for Wii remote connection and vibration and speakers in the remote enhance play. The Wii contains 512mb of internal flash memory and an upgradeable SD card can be inserted in the SD card slot. A drawback, the Wii cannot be used as a home media centre like the Xbox 360 or PS3 and does not play DVDs.

Users can connect wirelessly with the Nintendo DS, DS Lite, DSi, DSi XL and 3-DS, or connect to the internet via built-in 802.11b/g.

While the Wii has poorer graphics capabilities than its two rivals the Xbox 360 and PS3, as it has the least powerful processor, the positive side to this is that it is not disposed to processor or overheating issues like its rival consoles. Most Wii problems experienced by Wii owners are a result of normal wear and tear, such as the laser needing to be replaced, or misuse, such as foreign objects being inserted into the disc drive. Because of the compact size and a disc drive with no disc tray, children love to use it as a money box; hence foreign object retrieval is common.

We provide all Nintendo Wii repair solutions for Nintendo Wii. All repair services include assessment of the problem/s, repair or replacement of parts using genuine parts, and post-repair console testing.
